/ Marcos Morales appeared before the Senate´s Commission on Economic Matters

Marcos Morales appeared before the Senate´s Commission on Economic Matters to speak about the position of the Chilean Association of Intellectual Property (Achipi) regarding the bill that fully supersedes current Industrial Property Law 19.039. In his capacity of Vice-President of AIPPI´s Chilean group, Marcos Morales summarized the improvable aspects of the bill, including keeping the current protection of renowned foreign trademarks, the required removal of the double examiner’s analysis regarding patents, non-reduction of remedies of appeal against INAPI resolutions, the need of better regulating the content examination, and the mandatory use of trademarks, among others.
