/ “Por un Chile que lee” signs a pro bono work agreement with Alessandri Abogados

The network “Por un Chile que Lee” signed a pro bono work agreement with Alessandri Abogados to strengthen its efforts to improve the teaching of reading in the country.

 

Santiago, 29 August 2024. The network “Por un Chile que Lee” signed a pro bono work agreement (free legal advice hours) with Alessandri Abogados. This alliance will provide the network with the legal and juridical support necessary to continue its work and expand its impact in the field of education and strengthening of democracy. This pro bono agreement marks a significant step in the collaboration between the legal sector and educational initiatives and underlines Alessandri Abogados’ commitment to social welfare and the promotion of reading as a fundamental tool for the integral development of children in Chile.

Paulina Retamales, executive director of Por un Chile que Lee, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration: “having the legal and juridical advice of Alessandri Abogados is a tremendous boost for our Corporation and for the commitment we have to improve the teaching of reading throughout the country. It is a great support to know that the team we will be working with also dreams of the same thing, that all children learn to read in a timely manner and enjoy reading”.

Carolina Andueza, executive director of Fundación CMPC, said: “we are very grateful for this collaboration with Alessandri Abogados and very enthusiastic about the contribution that this legal and juridical advice will make to our network “Por un Chile que Lee”, especially at this time when we are constituted as a non-profit corporation and we are taking bigger and bigger steps towards the formalisation of our actions. We particularly appreciate the sense they give to this support and the sincere sharing of our national mission for the reading of Chile’s children”.

We strongly believe in the transformative power of reading and we are committed to support Por un Chile que Lee in its work to improve educational opportunities for future generations”.

“Por un Chile que Lee” is a network of more than a hundred public-private institutions that was created at the end of 2022 with the aim of coordinating efforts to improve the teaching of reading to children in the country. The network promotes actions that have proven to be effective, as well as supporting studies in academia to highlight the importance of teaching reading with theoretical and practical support. Its work involves schools, teachers, families, academia and public policies, seeking to generate a profound change in education.
