May 19, 2022

Santiago Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (SVYAP) partially renewed its executive committee for the period 2022-2023. Among the new members is Patricio Rámila, senior associate at Alessandri Abogados and part of its Litigation and Arbitration team.

SVYAP is a network that seeks to bring together young lawyers and arbitrators, as well as law students, with an interest in arbitration, both domestic and international, with the purpose of promoting their professional and academic interaction in arbitration-related matters.

Membership is available to junior and mid-level practitioners and students up to the age of 35 who have professional relationships with Chile. SVYAP seeks to organize academic and social events that differ from traditional arbitration events. The goal is to facilitate the participation of young practitioners so that they can learn best practices, discuss important topics and interact with experienced practitioners and professors from the arbitration world.

The renewal of its executive committee for the period 2022-2023 counted with the incorporation of Patricio Rámila Pinochet (Alessandri Abogados), Vyctoria Elgueta (Universidad de Chile-in process of graduation), Bernardita Gutierrez Vargas (Arteaga I Gorziglia), Ricardo Padilla Parot (Carey Abogados), and Josefina Silva Lavín (Albagli y Zaliasnik) who join Paz Arriagada Callis (Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría), Luis Francisco Rodríguez (Cuatrecasas) and Benjamin Silva Aldana (Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana).

SVYAP works with other Very Young Arbitration Practitioners networks in other countries such as Lima, Uruguay, Bogota, Mexico City, Washington, Paris and Madrid. In addition, they promote the participation of their members in other arbitration forums such as ICC YAF, Young ICCA and LCIA Y&I.
