October 19, 2021

Our partner Raúl Montero, leader of the litigation and arbitration area, was elected arbitrator of the Arbitration and Mediation Center (CAM) of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS). The oath was taken on October 19, 2021.

Thirty-three lawyers were appointed arbitrators of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation (CAM), a non-profit institution, founded in 1992 by the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago A.G. (CCS). Among them, our partner Raúl Montero, leader of the litigation and arbitration area.

The new arbitrators, who were sworn in on October 19, 2021, were added to the general payroll to join the dispute resolution work through an appropriate mechanism for the peaceful resolution of disputes.

As you describe your website, CAM Santiago offers national arbitration services since 1992, and international arbitration since 2006 for the resolution of disputes. To date, they have more than 5,088 arbitration and mediation cases administered, making it a benchmark in terms of adequate conflict resolution in Chile and the region.

In the official social networks of the institution, the executive director of CAM Santiago, Macarena Letelier, said that “it is a privilege to have these new arbitrators, who have the skills and knowledge that will allow us to add additional efforts to our work as a human team by supporting parties that are in conflict”.

Our director of the litigation and arbitration area, Raúl Montero, has extensive experience in corporate and regulatory matters for public and private companies. In addition, he is an undergraduate and graduate university professor and director of the Procedural Law department of the Law School of the University of Chile. His specialty is not only arbitration, but also covers corporate issues, regulated markets, telecommunications, free competition, consumers, civil liability processes, summary and administrative processes.
