In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Carla Illanes, partner at Alessandri, brought together leading professionals from the legal and business worlds to open a space for conversation about the current challenges of female leadership and shared responsibility.

The breakfast included a discussion focused on sharing experiences and different perspectives on the role of women in decision-making, corporate governance, and cultural changes within organizations.

The panel, entitled “From the legal framework to real impact: women, leadership, and shared responsibility,” featured Lorena Barrientos, legal advisor at Minera Salar Blanco; Claudia Wiegand, legal director at Fundación Chile Mujeres; and Carmen Román, lawyer and company director. The discussion was moderated by Carla Illanes, partner at Alessandri.

The conversation addressed gender gaps in leadership positions, the impact of regulatory frameworks on female participation, the role of boards of directors and internal legal departments in promoting diversity, and the need to move toward models of shared responsibility that are reflected in organizational practice.

The dialogue emphasized the importance of going beyond regulatory compliance and moving toward real changes in culture and decision-making processes, highlighting the value that diverse perspectives bring to strategic roles.
