Designing strategies for the global protection and licensing of innovation and patents of Chilean companies, universities and inventors is the specialty of Alessandri’s new partner.
Lawyer of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and with an LLM from the University of London, Santiago Ortúzar Decombe (51), is also director of the department of economic law of the University of Los Andes, where he has focused his work relating intellectual property with competition and regulation law in Chile. In relation to the defense of his clients, he is one of the few Chilean lawyers who has to his credit an important success before the ITC (International Trade Commission). In addition, he has a large number of successes in defending patent lawsuits. Prior to his university education in Chile, Santiago lived for 11 years in Australia, so he benefits from the best of Latina American and Anglo Saxon cultures and is fully bilingual.
