Laura focuses her practice on Intellectual Property matters, being responsible for Alessandri’s International Department.
She has a distinguished career in the protection of intangibles, with a notorious focus on managing our clients’ trademark and patent portfolios, as well as other intangible assets, worldwide.
Laura has vast experience in proposing and managing internationalization strategies: from working with our clients in defining the relevant jurisdictions for their development related to the area, filing before the local PTO’s and different related organizations, to reviewing proposals for commercial agreements with local distributors, advising on product labeling, and all requirements related to the establishment of operations outside Chile from an Intellectual Property perspective.
Laura strongly believes in the importance of Intellectual Property in all industries and activities; she is an active speaker and columnist, disseminating and sharing her fascination for her area of practice, excelling in matters related to trademarks, fashion business, sports & entertainment, the wine industry, innovations and technological developments, to mention a few.
She is one of the founders of the Latin American School of Intellectual Property (ELAPI, for its Spanish signs), where she promotes the dissemination and knowledge in this area throughout the region. She is a member of the Distinctive Signs Commission of this organization.
Laura participates in various organizations, where she promotes development and gender equity in the sector.
