With the participation of authorities from the Chilean PTO (INAPI), counselors from two international tobacco companies (British American Tobacco and Phillip Morris) and many members of INTA from the most important law firms in Chile, the new Law being discussed in the Chilean Senate regarding strict advertising regulations for cigarettes was analyzed during an INTA Roundtable hosted by Alessandri, in Santiago.
One of the topics was specifically those provisions that will establish the plain packaging with similar standards to those in force in Australia. The plain packaging issue was also updated and discussed with regard to the progress in all countries involved.
The President of AIPPI, Mr. Felipe Claro, the Director of Trademarks of the Chilean PTO (INAPI) Mrs. Carolina Belmar, and the Legal Advisor on International Affairs of INAPI, Ms. Eileen Frodden Kelly were the speakers. The Chair-person was Mr. Rodrigo Velasco S., member of the Latin America Roundtable Project Team of INTA. The host was Ms. Loreto Bresky, Partner of Alessandri Attorneys at Law and member of the Board of the Chilean Association of Intellectual Property.
