/ Sadel and Fundación Alcázar sign license agreement for educational content

November 21, 2025

In a meeting marked by collaboration and commitment to quality education, Sadel—an entity dedicated to the collective management of copyright in Chile—and Fundación Alcázar signed a license agreement that guarantees the authorized use of protected materials. This agreement reflects the willingness of educational institutions to comply with copyright regulations and promote good practices for the benefit of their students. Lawyers from Alessandri also participated, facilitating and promoting the signing of the agreement.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of closeness and cooperation, reinforcing the importance of transparency and respect for intellectual property in the field of education.

This major agreement does not preclude the existence of other educational institutions where potential infringements of intellectual property law have been detected, which is why legal proceedings are currently underway before the Civil Courts of Santiago and the Courts of First Instance of Puerto Varas for the potential unauthorized use of literary works subject to copyright from Sadel’s repertoire.

Hernán Torres, senior associate at Alessandri, explained that “signing the license with Sadel not only avoids legal risks, but also opens the door to exclusive benefits for the institutions involved.”
