/ Raúl Montero Promoted to Full Professor at the University of Chile
August 18, 2026The University of Chile’s highest academic distinction recognizes Raúl Montero López’s outstanding career in teaching, research, and university administration.
The University of Chile’s Higher Academic Evaluation Committee ratified the promotion of Raúl Montero López to the rank of Full Professor, the institution’s highest academic rank.
This significant recognition honors an outstanding academic career spanning more than three decades, marked by his ongoing contributions to teaching, research, and the development of procedural law, criminal procedural law, and arbitration.
A law graduate of the University of Chile and holder of a Master’s degree in Law, Business, and Justice from the University of Valencia, Raúl has built a solid academic career at the University of Chile’s School of Law. His work includes outstanding institutional leadership, having served two terms as director and two as deputy director of the Department of Procedural Law.
Furthermore, his academic work has been reflected in various specialized publications, including the books The Need to Establish a Standard of Proof in the New Chilean Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedural Law, as well as chapters in collective works on access to justice and procedural law.
