When a company has created a new plant variety, it has the right to apply to the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) for a breeder’s registration, demonstrating that its variety has distinctive phenotypic characteristics from its similar ones and, furthermore, that such characteristics remain stable over time and, therefore, in its future generations.

The creators or breeders receive the support of Alessandri’s patent area in the procedure before the SAG’s Registry of Protected Varieties.

In the case of varieties coming from abroad, we have the technical area required to bring the variety to our country, keep it in quarantine and make it available to SAG technicians, so that they can make the necessary inspections during the processing period.  We support the breeder to obtain a provisional registration, until it becomes a final registration.
