Luis is a senior associate in the litigation, arbitration, and compliance areas at Alessandri. His professional practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, as well as administrative sanctioning procedures. In particular, he has litigated in ordinary, arbitration, and special venues in cases involving civil liability, unfair competition, environmental rights, industrial property, and consumer law. Additionally, he has taken on the criminal aspect of such processes.
Furthermore, since the implementation of Law No. 20,393, Luis advises national and international companies on matters related to criminal law and regulatory compliance. He provides training sessions, develops or updates risk matrices, crime prevention models, and internal policies of various kinds.
Notable cases of him include:
- AB-inBev Cervecería Chile in a national arbitration for alleged breach of a construction contract in the amount of USD 20 MM.
- Wacker Neuson in bankruptcy liquidation proceedings against its distributors in the amount of USD 6 MM.
- A fishing company in an administrative sanctioning proceeding before the Environmental Superintendence.
- A Chilean real estate company with a presence in South America in updating its Crime Prevention model and Good Practices manual before the UAF.
In 2020, Luis participated as speaker in the Webinar “From Financial Restructuring to Bankruptcy Law” of the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce.
