/ Bill establishing rules on cybercrime is approved

On March 22, the bill 12,192-95 was approved, which complies with the obligations acquired by Chile when ratifying the Budapest Convention, modifying different legal bodies.

On March 22, 1995, the bill 12,192-95 was approved, which complies with the obligations acquired by Chile when ratifying the Budapest Convention, modifying different legal bodies. To this end, it includes the following conducts: attack to the integrity of a computer system, illicit access, illicit interception, attack to the integrity of computer data, computer forgery, computer fraud and abuse of devices. It also incorporates a new concept of data receiving, which punishes whoever, knowing its origin or not, stores, in any way, computer data resulting from illicit access, illicit interception and computer forgery.
