Con el fin de optimizar el uso de la tecnología, acortar los tiempos de persecución y promover la productividad institucional, desde del 8 de enero de 2018 todos los trámites de solicitudes de marcas, patentes de invención, modelos de utilidad, dibujos y diseños industriales, esquemas de trazado o topografías de circuitos integrados, así como todas las gestiones relacionadas con tales derechos industriales ante el Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Industrial de Chile, se pueden realizar por medio de tramitación electrónica.

INAPI now working totally online

With the aim of optimizing the use of technology, shorten the prosecution timings and promote the institutional productivity as of January 8, 2018, all the applications for trademarks, invention patents, utility models, industrial drawings and designs, schemes for plotting or topographies of integrated circuits, as well as all the administrative and contentious procedures related to such Industrial Property rights before INAPI will be prosecuted through a 100% electronic processing.

Actualización y reajuste de Aranceles Periciales

A partir del 21 de enero de 2018 entrará en vigencia un reajuste del arancel pericial, lo que implicará un aumento cercano al 9% del arancel pericial actual en solicitudes de patentes de invención, modelos de utilidad, diseños y dibujos industriales, esquemas de trazado o topografías de circuitos integrados. Por otro lado, las reglas para el pago de tasas correspondientes al Arancel Pericial también se han actualizado.

Official examination fees are updated and readjusted

As of January 21, 2018, a readjustment of the official examination fees will come into force, implying an increase of around 9% of the current official examination fees for applications related to invention patents, utility models, industrial designs and drawings, schemes for plotting or topographies of integrated circuits. On the other hand, the rules for the payment of the official examination fees have been also updated.
